Having taught music in the public schools of Sonoma County,
California for over 30 years, and the recipient of “Teacher of the
Year” honors, he has an understanding of music and musicianship
and a unique ability to convey it to others, both in his performances
and workshops. As a guitar major in college, John was equally
versed in the classical guitar repertory as well as on pop and jazz
standards and Broadway and show tunes. John performed on
guitar extensively around the San Francisco Bay area at various
clubs and venues as a soloist and with other musicians. He also
taught guitar for 2 years at the University of San Francisco and for
one year at Lone Mountain College.
As a multi-instrumentalist, he
also played keyboard for the Moonlighters Swing Band for 7 years.
John has been playing the folk harp for over 10 years, with his
primary interest being on the cross-strung and Latin harp. He has
offered numerous classes and workshops on both types of harps
and repertoire. He has also published many books for the folk
harp, including 3 collections of classical pieces for the cross-strung
harp. His debut CD “Paths Crossing” is a solo cross-
strung harp album and has just been released and is available for sale through this website. Please use the links
